Japan’s largest bank is developing own digital currency. Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ has revealed that it will launch its own currency nickname “MUFG coin”. Mitsubishi began the trial last fall, which is aimed to decrease the cost of managing financial transactions and to address the future business environments. We will be able to use the currency to make payments at places like restaurant , convenience stores and other shops. Participants need to install an app on their smartphones that convers their deposits into digital currency. This coin has somewhat different view from already existing virtual currencies, e.g. bit coins at several points . Bank official claim that they always check to see if settlements are carried out in smoothly and security way. One MUFG coin will be worth around one yen. This rate will be kept constant within the own market organized by Mitsubishi UFJ itself. MUFG coin does not play the same role as credit cards since it moves in tandem with the Japanese yen. We will have a trust supported by the mega bank and feel easy to use this virtual currency. For the future , they are considering the tie ups with a wide range of business to offer services based on this digital currency.

Shoe maker Adidas has sold more than one million pairs of sneakers made from plastic trash in the ocean. Making a sneaker consume eleven pet bottles and recycled plastic is reborn into shoe laces, heels and insoles.

Adidas started cooperation with Parley two years ago. A yarn developed by Parley turns the ocean plastic into a polymer that can be used to construct knitted footwear. Looking at the shoes, they are nearly indistinguishable from a normal pair of Adidas shoes.

Other shoe makers follow this movement.

Competitor Nike is also developing the sustainable footwear. It is called Flyleather which bonds together left over pieces of hide forming a new material. This reduces waste in Nike’s own processes, and makes its traditional leather product more sustainable as well. This would be a recycling initiative from which the company can get praise of its green ecofriendly effort. As a result we can also reduce trash on earth. In future petroleum based materials will be expensive and every company has to incooperate an idea of sustainability into common place to manufacture.

The emperor in Japan will retire next year. This is the first abdication of the emperors in two centuries. In recent Japan passing away had been the reason for hereditary of the position. However the present emperor Akihito, through a national broadcaster TV interview, addressed concern about his advanced age and declining health to carry out his duties like as his young ages. He is now 84 years old. The Japanese constitution says that the emperor is a symbol of the state, the unity of Japanese people, and has no related to government. Historically emperors were the highest authority of the Shino religion. But now emperor’s powers are only limited to imperial ceremonial functions except for appointing a prime minister to the office.

Akihito is the 125 th Emperor of his line according to Japan’s traditional order of succession. On June 2017 the bill has been legalized that would allow Akihito to abdicate and for the government to begin arranging the process of handing over the position to Crown Prince Naruhito. The Japanese government announced in December 2017 that Akihito will abdicate on April 30, 2019. The following day will be the Crown Prince’s accession. The government intends to make May first a holiday so that we’ll have consecutive 10 day holidays from April 27 to May 6th, golden week plus one . This idea comes from the fact that not only allow us having long holiday but also reducing the disturbance of every day life from the changing name of era. If we don’t need to work much , we can minimize processing losses and avoid the confusion of computer systems brought from the change of calendar.

Articles are some of the trickiest things for students of English to learn. Did you get any new insights from this lesson?
One thing to keep in mind is that English places a lot of important on “which X do you mean”. You use indefinite articles for “any X”, definite articles for “this specific X”, and no article for “all Xs”. Good luck!

We are afraid of a technological unemployment by the reason that robotics and artificial intelligence will steal our jobs. If it happened, what will do for living? How will we earn money? One of promising solutions to this is “basic income” . Basic Income is a policy that all citizens regularly receive money to guarantee minimum life. This is not capitalism . You can still get any income from ordinary works. Basic income is applicable for every single person in the country. Some experts believe society will adapt to the technical unemployment by constantly demonetizing our cost of living and might be the widespread of a universal basic income. In the last decade, over eight countries like Finland, Netherland , India and Canada have formally experimented with this system. They had fewer hospitalization, high school graduation rates increased, fewer accidents and injuries. Essentially nobody need quitting their job. Cash from the government eased families economic anxiety, allowing them to invest their health and having passion for creative activities. This idea is not new, but is a current topic because some Japanese political party publically pledged in their election campaign of the last occation although it was controversial.

It is worthy of notice that the universal basic income will be one of tools empowering self actualization-more people will be able to follow their passions, be more creative and spend more time on higher level , personally fulfill task.

Delicate nuances of languages from country to country would cast a dark shadow on the relations between peoples or countries. Verbal battle between North Korea and US leaders is ongoing. President Trump threatened to “totally destroy North Korea” and in a speech at United Nation General Assembly he insulted Kim John-Un referring by “little Rocket man”. As the rhetorical retaliation Mr. Kim called Mr. Trump a “mentally deranged US dotard”. The word “dotard” in particularly send SNS people to the dictionary to look up an arcane term. Colloquially one could translate the entire expression as “ crazy old fool ”. The Korean word for “ dotard” is maybe translated into “Oibore” in Japanese. We normally understand such difficult words through country-wise translations of separate own languages. Commentators are warning a stupid quarrel between the tops brings a serious danger and a security risk to local regions over the world from misunderstanding or mistranslation. And now another word ” moron” spreads like wildfires. The NBC news reported Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had called Trump a “ moran ”.  Spokes woman denied and said “The secretary did not use that type of language” but the CNN news has now confirmed Tillerson called Trump a “moran”.

Trump tweeted on his twitter “Wow a lot of fake news has been around for today and they are out of control”. Who is the bottom of the trouble?
